Yesterday I had the pleasure of spending the day behind the scenes with comedian and actor Larry The Cable Guy as he surprised troops at Fort Bragg. As a blogger I have had the chance to travel to many events , but finally I was able to attend a fun event for military personnel right here in my hometown.
Larry The Cable Guy thanks to Prilosec indulged in delivering some hilarious comedy, a base tour, meeting troops, as well as a special luncheon with Wounded Warriors and Gold Star families in yesterday’s prelude to Friday’s Big Fourth of July celebration at Fort Bragg.
The comedian shared with ABC11 Reporter Nicole Carr: “It’s always good to make people laugh. You know, that’s why I do it. I enjoy it,” the comedian said. “I get tons of texts and e-mails ‘Hey Larry Man, we’re over in Iraq and popped in your (comedy).’ I mean that’s the kind of stuff that makes it worth it.”
Watch Larry Surprise Troops At Fort Bragg
If you will remember correctly last year’s big 4th of July celebration at Bragg was cancelled due to budget cuts but with the help of Prilosec OTC it’s back and better then ever this year. Fort Braggers will have a chance to see performances and on top of all of that….FREE BBQ with a little heart burn medicine to wash it down afterwards.
Prilosec OTC will march into Fort Bragg for the third stop of the Zero Burn* Summer Barbeque Event Tour, to bring back food, fun and fireworks for Fort Bragg military personnel, their families and the community of Central North Carolina. The brand will offer Zero Burn* Experiences like Zero Cost Barbeque, Zero Burn* Games, and prizes to allow the troops and fellow Americans to eat, drink and celebrate the Fourth of July. In addition, Prilosec OTC will provide samples and education to frequent heartburn sufferers.
The iconic Fort Bragg Fourth of July fireworks and celebration will take place at the Main Post Parade Field from 3:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Zero Cost Barbeque will be available for all event attendees from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The concert with .38 Special and Josh Turner will start at 5:00 p.m., with fireworks beginning at 9:42 p.m.
