I know I know deployments are dreary, depressing, long, and tiring. We’ve talked that situation until we are blue in the face here on Army Wife 101. However, we are all about the lighter and brighter side of things, and while deployments are serious business there are some smaller perks and indulgences.

Sidenote: This is not an attack on military spouses because I indulge in many of these during deployments and TDY’s.

Let’s have a look at the top things military spouses look forward to doing while their “bae” is getting the bad guys.

1. Because for many the highlight of the week during deployments is watching the newest season of “Orange is The New Black”, or some other series that we will binge watch in less than 48 hours.[iframe src=”http://giphy.com/embed/icEKqWbHBxSXS” width=”500″ height=”265″ frameBorder=”0″ webkitAllowFullScreen mozallowfullscreen allowFullScreen][/iframe]

When they come home and ask did you watch this without me?

  1. While we are no longer in the military I went through a few deployments. One of my favorites was long walks with the kids or an afternoon watching the dolphins at the beach as the kids just collected shells. Yes, I became a quick ebay fan because I mean how else was I going to do holidays with the kids, I had to buy gifts didn’t I? Oh Vegging in front of the tv and watching every movie he wouldn’t watch with me. Gosh I imagine if we were still in how much I’d watch Netflix lol.

  2. Have pretty much done all of these during my first deployment experience… and will likely do them all again on the next one haha!
