I feel like this year just started but somehow it’s already almost June. Can’t believe it. June is a busy month. School ends, summer camps begin and we celebrate Father’s Day. Busy. Busy. Busy. With two little ones, my husband and I don’t always feel like venturing out into the world off base (we’re Army living on an Air Force base) for fun. So, I’ve discovered lots of fun things to do and awesome gift ideas that don’t involve going beyond the gates.
Gift Ideas
Shopping at the P(B)X. Some hate it some love it. I’m pretty neutral. There are great deals to be had shopping at the PX. Maybe Krystel will let me come back and give you some Dos and Don’ts for PX shopping but until then feast your eyes on these great Father’s Day gifts found in the PX.
Fitness Gear
If your husband is a gym rat like mine consider these gifts to take his workouts to the next level.
Manscaping
Could your husband use a little makeover or makeunder? Father’s Day is a great way to give him a subtle hint that he shouldn’t smell *that* bad and that you shouldn’t need a beard map to find his lips for a kiss.
Electronics
If you’re husband has been a really good Daddy this year (and if your budget allows) why not splurge on him? Afterall, he works so hard and he deserves it. Don’t forget these items are tax-free when shopping at the PX. There. That should make you feel a bit better.
Things to Do
Now that you’ve found the perfect gift here are a few suggestions for fun on base with Dad.
-Golfing
-Bowling
-Family Baseball Game
Get a few families together and play a fun game of baseball. Each family can bring some type of snack and you could make an afternoon of it. This is a great idea for a Saturday activity. That way you can still have Dad all to yourself on Sunday.
